About The Special Guest: Jennifer Haslip

Jennifer Haslip is Vice President of Communications at Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy. Prior to the Parker Institute, she was the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications for Duke University. In this role, she and her team developed strategies, programs and projects to engage alumni, donors and friends to ultimately make gifts that supported the university’s priorities. Haslip previously served as Vice President of Communications for the fundraising arm of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital where she led marketing communications, public relations, entertainment marketing, and patient outreach and engagement. She established the organization’s social media strategy, set benchmarking goals to measure share of voice, developed the organization’s first crisis communications plan, engaged numerous artists, actors and athletes in the St. Jude mission and secured top tier media coverage across all mediums. She also partnered with researchers, clinicians, nurses and child life staff to effectively tell the St. Jude story to key audiences. Haslip has more than 20 years of experience in marketing, communications and public relations and has worked in the nonprofit, corporate and agency sectors. During her career she has led large public education efforts for the USDA, DHHS’ Office on Women’s Health, National Institutes of Health and Department of Defense, developed successful integrated marketing campaigns for the American Society of Hematology, Philips Electronics and Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse and launched campaigns to drive awareness and revenue for top charities.
